WALTHAM, Mass. – Four different players reached double figures in kills, with junior Kirsten Segaline (Scottsdale, Ariz./Desert Mountain HS) leading the way with 14, and senior Xio Lopp (Kalispell, Mont./Flathead HS) recorded a career-high 51 assists­­ as streaking Bentley University posted a 3-1 win over The College of Saint Rose in Northeast-10 Conference women's volleyball Friday evening at the Nolan Gymnasium.

The win was the 14th straight for Bentley, the fifth longest in program history and the Falcons' longest since a remarkable 35-match streak in 1988. Coach Joey Pacis' team stayed unbeaten in conference play (8-0) and at 19-4 overall, moved to within one of their first 20-win season since 2008.

After dropping the opening set 27-25, Bentley evened the match with a 25-21 win in the second and took control with a 26-24 victory in the third. That was a nail-biter with the set even at 20, 21, 22, 23 and 23 before the Falcons picked up the final two points. Segaline picked up the go-ahead point with a kill and set point came on a Golden Knight attack error.

The fourth set was all Bentley as the Falcons ran off 13 unanswered to take a 14-1 lead and eventually prevailed 25-14. That flurry included three kills from freshman Ingrid Murphy (Cotuit, Mass./ Barnstable HS) and three shared blocks by the duo of Lopp and classmate Rachel Bruno (San Diego, Calif./Scripps Ranch HS).

Segaline and Murphy each had double-doubles with Segaline complementing her 14 kills with 12 digs and Murphy finishing with 13 and 12.  Both also served three aces.

Bentley also received 12 kills, a .435 hitting percentage and seven blocks from Bruno and ten kills from senior Dani Milner (Plano, Texas/The Greenhill School). Freshman Jenna Giaquinto (Lighthouse Point, Fla./Cardinal Gibbons HS) led the team in digs with 14.

Senior Stevie Schweitzer (Tampa, Fla.) powered Saint Rose with 15 kills and 14 digs.

Bentley hit .257, including .333 in the third set and .400 in the fourth, while holding the Golden Knights to .164.

The Falcons will attempt to reach 20 for the first time in 11 years Saturday at Le Moyne College. The starting time of that match has been changed to 12 noon.
