Bentley’s 9th Straight Win Features 10 Kills by Boyer, 9 by Rounds

WALTHAM, Mass. – Senior Mariana Boyer (Arvada, Colo./Broomfield HS) had ten kills without an error and sophomore Katie Rounds (McFarland, Wis./McFarland HS) followed with nine as Bentley University stretched its winning streak to nine with a 25-11, 25-19, 25-12 victory in Northeast-10 Conference women's volleyball Saturday afternoon at the Dana Center.

Bentley, which outhit the Purple Knights .306-.095, improved to 14-4 overall and 3-0 in the conference. The win was their 11th in their last 12 and the Falcons have now won 27 of their last 29 sets. St. Michael's dropped to 1-10, including 0-3 NE10.

Both Boyer and Rounds had outstanding hitting performances with only one combined error. Boyer hit .417 during 24 swings and Rounds hit .571 with nine kills and one error in 14 attacks.

 Sophomore Amanda Parker (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North HS), who split setting duties with senior Xio Lopp (Kalispell, Mont./Flathead HS), finished with seven kills, 16 assists and five digs. Lopp led the way in assists with 22 and also served two aces.

Freshman libero Jenna Giaquinto (Lighthouse Point, Fla./Cardinal Gibbon HS) led Bentley in digs with 16.

Bentley will be back in the Dana on Tuesday to take on Franklin Pierce for the second time this season.
