WALTHAM, Mass. – The Hoffman Memorial Tournament drew to a close Saturday evening with the Bentley University women's volleyball team rallying from two down to defeat previously unbeaten Molloy College, 3-2,  at the Dana Center.

It was the second win of the day for the Falcons, who swept Caldwell University in three sets earlier.

With the two wins, coach Joey Pacis reached the 200 victory mark for his head coaching career which includes an 83-70 mark in six years at Bentley and 117-116 in eight years at Merrimack.

Against Molloy, Bentley dug a hole for itself by dropping the first two sets 25-21 and 25-22. The Falcons battled back in impressive fashion in the next two, 25-15 and 25-18, to force a decisive fifth set.

In the fifth, Bentley was in charge from the start, scoring the first four points and ten of the first 12. The Lions drew within five, 13-8, before the Falcons locked up the victory with a shared block by sophomore Shannon Ngo (San Rafael, Calif./Terra Linda HS) and Xio Lopp (Kalispell, Mont./Flathead HS) making it 14-8 and a Molloy service error finishing the match.

In the final set, senior Dani Milner (Plano, Texas/The Greenhill School) had four kills in seven attempts and junior Kirsten Segaline (Scottsdale, Ariz./Desert Mountain HS) served two aces.

Segaline came up big overall, finishing with 15 kills, 12 digs and five service aces. Milner followed with 14 kills and two blocks, and Ngo had 11 kills with a .364 hitting percentage. Others who contributed to the impressive win were Lopp with 46 assists and 15 digs, senior Rachel Bruno (San Diego, Calif./Francis Parker School) with nine kills and five blocks, and freshman Ingrid Murphy (Cotuit/ Barnstable HS) with nine kills, 11 digs and two aces.

Bentley struggled in the first set (.024) but swung at a .287 success rate the rest of the way. Meanwhile, Molloy hit .104 in the final three and .185 in the first two.

Milner led the way in the 25-13, 25-16, 25-14 victory over Caldwell as she hit .450 with 11 kills in 20 swings.

Sophomore setter Amanda Parker (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North HS) was involved in 37 of the Falcons' 41 kills with 35 assists and two kills of her own.

Named to the All-Tournament Team were Milner, Segaline and freshman libero Jenna Giaquinto (Lighthouse Point, Fla./Cardinal Gibbons HS), who had 14 digs and six assists in the Molloy match.

Bentley, 5-3, will return to action Tuesday at Bridgeport (7 pm).
