Burbage Named Northeast-10 Volleyball Rookie of the Week

WALTHAM, Mass. – Following an outstanding performance over the weekend in the Post Eagles Invitational, Bentley University sophomore Mallory Burbage (Bow Mar, Colo./Littleton HS) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week.

Burbage led Bentley to a 3-1 record during the tournament by averaging 3.80 kills, 3.20 digs, 0.53 blocks and 4.37 points. She totaled 57 kills, 48 digs and 8 blocks, and hit .285.

Burbage, who missed all of last season due to injury, had 14+ kills three times with a high of 20 against Post, averaged 5.0 kills in two different matches and had two double-doubles. Included was 14 kills and 18 digs in a five-set victory over NYIT.

For the season, the six-footer is averaging 2.54 kills, 3.04 digs and 2.90 points for the 4-6 Falcons.

The Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll included Bentley sophomore Kirsten Segaline (Scottsdale, Ariz./Desert Mountain HS) and Falcon senior co-captain Krista Campbell (Newtown, Pa./Council Rocks North HS).

Campbell averaged 9.85 assists, 2.31 digs and 0.92 kills with a .579 hitting percentage during the tournament. Her totals in 13 sets were 128 assists, 30 digs and 12 kills in 19 swings. Campbell recorded a career-best 56 assists in a five-set win against NYIT, 13 digs and two aces against Post, and five kills in a pair of matches.

Segaline averaged 3.21 kills, 3.0 digs and 3.39 points during the four matches. She had a career-best 22 kills against NYIT and a 15-kill, 19-dig double-double against Post.

Bentley will be in action twice this week. The Falcons will open their NE10 schedule Wednesday at Franklin Pierce before playing their home opener Friday evening against Bridgeport.
