WALTHAM, Mass. – Senior outside hitter Lauren Van Buren (Massapequa Park, N.Y./ Massapequa HS) hit .263 with 15 kills, most coming from senior setter Allie Rotkin (Cumming, Ga./ Milton HS), as Bentley University stayed unbeaten at home with a 25-21, 25-20, 28-26 straight-set victory over The College of Saint Rose in Northeast-10 Conference women's volleyball Friday night at the Dana Center.

Bentley, 6-0 at home, improved to 10-14 overall and 7-3 in the conference, good for fourth place. Saint Rose dropped into a three-way tie for seventh, 4-5 NE-10 and 9-12 overall.

The third set was the closest with the Falcons coming from behind late after trailing 24-21. The Golden Knights were looking at set point four times before Bentley tallied the match's final three points.

A kill by Rotkin evened the score at 26-all, a ball handling error by the visitors gave the Falcons the lead and the match ended on an attack error by Saint Rose. The ending 7-2 spurt included two kills from freshman Rachel Bruno (San Diego, Calif./Frances Parker HS). The first brought Bentley within one at 24-23 and the second gave her team a 25-24 lead.

Coach Joey Pacis' team also closed the first two sets strong, using an 8-3 run to claim the W in the first and six unanswered to win the second. That latter spurt included three aces by Rotkin, the last one ending the set.

Rotkin's night included 37 assists, three aces, three digs and two kills. Bruno was second to Van Buren in kills, finishing with nine and a .368 success rate.  Junior libero Celia Cristofoli (Hudson, Ohio/ Hudson HS) recorded 16 digs and freshman Xio Lopp (Kalispell, Mont./Flathead HS) helped out with three blocks.

Senior Maryellen Devic (Orchard Park, N.Y.), the NE-10 leader in kills, topped Saint Rose with eight.

Bentley will be right back at the Dana Center Saturday with a 1 pm match against Le Moyne College. It will be both Dig Lavender and Senior Day for the Falcons, and late head coach Sandy Hoffman will be recognized for her induction into the Northeast-10 Hall of Fame.
