Bentley Sweeps Past Pace for 5th Straight Win

WALTHAM, Mass. – Led by a handful of juniors, the Bentley University Falcons extended their winning streak to five with a 3-0 victory over Pace University in Northeast-10 Conference women's volleyball Saturday afternoon at the Dana Center. The streak is the program's longest since the Falcons won seven in a row in 2008.

The productive day from the Class of 2015 included 13 kills and a .478 hitting percentage from Savannah Dominguez (Miami, Fla./Palmer Trinity HS), 37 assists from setter Alex Tator (Los Angeles, Calif./Marlborough School), 19 digs by libero Lauren Colasanti (Northville, Mich./ Northville HS) and eight kills apiece from Tatiana Froehlich (Newton/Newton North HS) and Simone Silvera (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook HS).

Bentley  (8-4, 2-0 NE-10) never trailed while winning the first two sets by identical 25-18 tallies, but the third was a battle with 11 ties and five lead changes before the Falcons closed the match with a 29-27 win.

After Pace broke ties at 24, 25 and 26 to take a one-point leads, Bentley picked up the match's final three points. A Tator kill evened the count at 27, a Silvera kill set up match-point and a Pace attack error ended things.

Dominguez did most of her damage in the opening two sets with five kills in seven swings in the first and six kills in the second. Tator amassed double-figure assists in each set, with a high of 14 in the third, and nine of Colasanti's nine digs came in the middle set.

Pace, which dropped to 3-10 overall after losing its conference opener, received a high of seven kills from freshman Ashley DiFulvio (Lakewood, Colo.).

Bentley will be back in the Dana Center Sunday afternoon for a 1 pm meeting with St. Michael's College.
