WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University student-athletes Alex Arnold (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy) and Sydney Hurwitz (Newton/Newton North HS) have been selected for the Academic All-Northeast-10 Conference indoor track teams.

Arnold, a senior who majors in both finance and liberal studies, finished tenth in both the 60 meters and the 200 during the NE10 indoor championships, with times of 7.14 and 22.86, respectively. He also placed 14th in the long jump, clearing 20 feet, 7.75 inches.

On Bentley's all-time performance list, Arnold is third in the 60, fifth in the 200 and seventh in the 300. His highest finish during the NE10 indoor championships came in 2019 when he was sixth in the long jump.

Academically, Arnold has achieved a 3.55 grade point average. He's qualified for both the President's List and Dean's List twice, and spent the fall 2018 semester studying in Barcelona.

Hurwitz, a junior, competed in four different events during the indoor season and achieved a personal best in each. She ran the 60 meters in 8.31 seconds, the 200 in 26.53 and the 60 hurdles in 9.28, and also cleared 17 feet, 10.25 inches in the long jump.

During the NE10 Championships, she was eighth in the 60 hurdles and helped Bentley to tenth in the 4x400 relay.  On Bentley's all-time indoor list, she ranks second in the 60 hurdles, third in the long jump and fifth in the 200.

Hurwitz owns a 3.61 GPA as an actuarial science major with two appearances on the President's List and three on the Dean's List.
