Bentley Wraps Up Season at New Englands

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Bentley University senior Sean Nee (West Yarmouth/Dennis-Yarmouth HS) closed out his collegiate career by setting a new personal best in the 800 meters while competing in the New England Outdoor Track and Field Championships Saturday at Southern Connecticut State University.

Nee was second among Division II competitors and 11th of 32 overall, finishing in 1:52.26. That improved on his personal best by nearly a third-of-a-second and was good for third on Bentley's all-time list in the event.

Bentley's women's 4x100 relay team posted a season-best time of 51.50 seconds while placing 13th among 15 teams. That quartet included senior Olyvia Leahy (New Bedford/New Bedford HS), sophomores Monica Levy (Merrick, N.Y./Calhoun HS) and Courtney Wilson (Morrisonville, N.Y./ Beekmantown Central HS), and freshman Stephanie Mattson (Smithfield, R.I./ Smithfield HS).

Bentley was also represented in the 1500 meters during day two of the New Englands. Junior Nik Haas (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey HS) was 18th of 25 in the men's race (4:02.23) and sophomore Marianne Bartolotta (Wantagh, N.Y./Holy Trinity HS) was 21st of 26 in the women's (4:59.88).
