Albanese & Bourgault Post Top Finishes for Bentley Women at MIT’s Sean Collier Invitational

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Seniors Samantha Albanese (Lynnfield/Lynnfield HS) and Arianne Bourgault (Fitchburg/Fitchburg HS) had the highest finishes for the Bentley University women's outdoor track and field team during the Sean Collier Invitational at MIT's Henry Steinbrenner Stadium Saturday.

Albanese was third of five in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with her time of 12:12.63 fifth best so far this season in the Northeast-10 Conference. Bourgault was sixth of 14 in the 5,000 meters, finishing in 19:58.56.

In a field of 37 in the 1500 meters, junior Katie Burke (Braintree/Braintree HS) was ninth in 5:03.73 and senior Anna Pickett (Schenectady, N.Y./Guilderland HS) was 13th in 5:06.79. Pickett's time was a personal best by 7.35 seconds.

Freshman Stephanie Mattson (Smithfield, R.I./Smithfield HS) continued her string of strong performances as she was 12th of 52 in the 400 meters (60.20 seconds), ninth of 35 in the long jump (16'5.75"), eighth of 11 in the triple jump (34'2.75") and a member of the Falcons' 4x100 relay that finished seventh (52.80). Mattson's time in the 400 was a PR by 0.31 and good for 11th in the NE-10 performance list.

Senior Dusty Sacco (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes HS) was 14th of 49 in the 800, finishing in 2:27.78, and classmate Olyvia Leahy (New Bedford/New Bedford HS) was 10th of 28 in the 100 hurdles (16.80).

Next Saturday, Bentley will participate in the Stonehill Invitational.
