Bentley Prevails in Singles to Defeat Saint Anselm 5-2

Manchester, N.H. – Bentley women's tennis won its season opening match on Wednesday 5-2 over Saint Anselm behind a strong effort in singles.

Bentley won the doubles point behind wins in the No. 2 and No. 3 matches to take an early 1-0 lead. In singles, the match was knotted 2-2 before Bentley won the final three singles matches that were being played, all in three sets, to secure the win.

Zoe Chin (Lexington, Mass./Lexington), Grace Bennett (Paxton, Mass./Wachusett) and Miruna Constantin (Bucharest, Romania) all won three setters to help Bentley claim the match. Chin took the No. 2 match, 2-6, 7-5, 6-1 over Emily Jacy. Bennett took the No. 4 match 6-0, 6-7, 6-2 over Maikah Bulpitt, and Constantin was a 4-6, 7-6, 6-0 winner over Parker Petruney.

Also winning in singles for Bentley was sophomore Cindy Luo (Stamford, Conn./Stamford) in No. 5, by a 6-2, 6-4 score over Dominique Bolduc.

Bentley will now look to make it a 2-0 start to the season when they host AIC on Saturday.
