Bentley Sweeps Curry College 7-0 in Season Finale

Waltham, Mass. – Bentley University had a convincing 7-0 sweep of Curry College in the season finale for the Falcons on Friday afternoon to close the season with three straight wins.

Bentley didn't drop a game in the doubles matches, and dropped just five games in the singles matches.

Senior team captain Hannah Fabianski (Pawcatuck, Conn./Stonington) was among those to win in both singles and doubles. She won the No. 1 singles match 6-1, 6-0 to improve to 5-2 in singles play this spring, all played at No. 1. In doubles, she teamed with Katie Tynan (West Barnstable, Mass./Barnstable) for a 6-0 sweep at No. 1, which was that team's 2nd straight victory.

Tynan was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at No. 4 singles, for her 2nd victory of the afternoon.

Freshman Alessa Matuty (San Pedro Sula, Honduras) swept the No. 2 singles match, 6-0, 6-0 for a 6-1 singles record this spring. She and sophomore Evann Welty (Wayzata, Minn./Mound Westonka) also swept in No. 2 doubles, 6-0, and that team finished the spring with a 6-1 record.

Welty claimed a 6-0, 6-1 victory in No. 3 singles for her 3rd straight singles win, and freshman Cindy Luo (Stamford, Conn./Stamford) took the No. 5 singles match, 6-1, 6-1 for her 3rd straight singles win as well.

It was the 3rd win in a row for Bentley to close the season, after they defeated Nichols and Endicott.
