Bentley Clipped by Le Moyne 5-4 in Regular Season Finale

WALTHAM, Mass. – Visiting Le Moyne upset Bentley University 5-4 on Wednesday afternoon in the Falcons' final match of the regular season. Despite the defeat, the team has already clinched a spot in the Northeast-10 Tournament.

The Falcons, who closed out the NE-10 regular season with an 8-4 record, can host a first round playoff match if they get some help. Regardless, the team will open the postseason in the first round one week from today on Oct. 19.

Bentley won the No. 3 doubles match, and the No. 4-No. 6 singles matches. In the doubles match, Corrie MacLean (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull HS) and Tiffany Suchanek (Waterville, Maine/Waterville HS) defeated Autumn Hogan and Cameron Aiello 8-2.

In the singles matches, freshman Katie Tynan (West Barnstable/Barnstable HS) claimed a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Christina Perry in the No. 4 match. Senior Susan Stowe (Hebron, Conn./RHAM) defeated Hogan 6-1, 6-4 in the No. 5 match, and junior Katie Brandow (East Northport, N.Y./Northport HS) knocked off Aiello 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 6 match.

The Falcons will find out their seed and opponent for the NE-10 playoffs when the regular season concludes on Saturday.
