Bentley Defeats Defending NE-10 Champs Adelphi for 4th Straight Win

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – Bentley University completed a 2-0 weekend on the road with a 5-4 victory over Adelphi, the 2015 Northeast-10 champions, on Sunday afternoon. The win was the 4th in a row for the Falcons, who improved to 5-2 on the season.

Bentley went 2-1 in the doubles matches, and the teams split the singles matches 3-3, to give the Falcons the win.

In doubles, Bentley's No. 2 pairing of Hannah Fabianski (Pawcatuck, Conn./Stonington HS) and Katie Brandow (East Northport, N.Y./Northport HS) defeated Karen Serina and Vanja Savic 8-5. That was the first of two wins on the day for both Fabiasnki and Brandow. Alexia Petruzziello (North Haven, Conn./North Haven HS) and Corrie MacLean (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull HS) claimed the No. 3 match.

In singles, Fabianski was Bentley's top winner. In the No. 2 match, she defeated Savic in straight sets, 7-6, 6-1. Brandow earned a straight sets, 6-2, 6-0 victory in the No. 5 match, while MacLean took the No. 6 match.

The win moved up the Falcons up to 3rd place in the NE-10 standings. They will go for their 5th straight win on Tuesday when they visit AIC.
