Bentley Drops Northeast-10 Finale to Stonehill 8-1
WALTHAM, Mass. – In the Northeast-10 regular season finale for both teams, Stonehill came away with an 8-1 victory over Bentley on Wednesday afternoon.
The Falcons close out the NE-10 portion of their schedule with a 6-6 record, while the Skyhawks improve to 10-2 and have won eight of their last nine matches.
Bentley's point on the day came from its No. 1 doubles team of Ludmila Yamus (Deer Park, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills East) and Rachel Petrini (Madison, Conn./RHAM), who were 8-5 winners over Bailey Paradiso and Emma Prinos.
In singles, Susan Stowe (Hebron, Conn./RHAM) went to three sets in the No. 5 match with her opponent Nicole Downey after winning the first set 6-4, but Downey rallied in the next two.
The Falcons will close out their fall season on Saturday when they visit Division I University of Hartford.
