NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – In a matchup of teams fighting for position in the Northeast-10 women's tennis playoffs, hosts Merrimack came away with an 8-1 win over Bentley on Thursday.

Merrimack took control of the match by sweeping doubles, then firmed up its advantage by winning five of six in singles.

Bentley's point came from Susan Stowe (Hebron, Conn./RHAM) in the No. 6 match. She defeated Celine Mende 6-1, 6-1.

The Falcons fall to 6-5 in NE-10 play. After hosting Daemen on Sunday in a non-conference match, the Falcons host Stonehill on Wednesday in their final NE-10 match of the season.
