Bentley Rallies Past Saint Anselm 5-4

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Bentley won for the second time in as many days with a come from behind 5-4 victory over Saint Anselm in a Northeast-10 women's tennis match on Thursday. The Falcons rallied from 4-1 down to claim the victory with four straight singles wins.

The Falcons fell behind 2-1 after doubles play, and went down 4-1 after dropping the No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches.

Bentley though reeled off wins in No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 singles to even the match 4-all. Brittani Hetyei (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Township), Hannah Fabianski (Pawcatuck, Conn./Stonington) and Susan Stowe (Hebron, Conn./RHAM) got the wins without much trouble. Hetyei dropped just three games in a 6-2, 6-1 win in the No. 3 match, Fabianski dropped just one game in the No. 5 match, taking it 6-1, 6-0, and Stowe swept to a 6-0, 6-0 victory.

That set the stage for Rachel Petrini (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) in the No. 4 match, who overcame Kathryn Rindo. She took the first set in a tiebreak 7-6 (7-4) and clinched it in the second set 6-4.

The Falcons improve to 2-1 on the season, while the Hawks drop to 2-3. Bentley is back in action on Sept. 23 when they visit Saint Michael's.
