Bentley Felled by Brandeis in Cross-Town Match
WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley women's tennis team fell to Brandeis 9-0 on Wednesday in a non-conference match between the two Waltham schools at the Bentley tennis courts.
The closest match in doubles play was the No. 2 match between Bentley's Catherine Gianino (Burlington, Mass./Burlington) and Olivia von Oldenburg (Austin, Texas/Vandegrift), and Brandeis' Dylan Schlesinger and Maya Vasser, with the pair from Brandeis sneaking out a narrow 9-8 victory.
In singles play, Gianino dropped a 7-5, 6-1 decision to freshman Haley Cohen in the No. 2 match. Sophomore Rachel Petrini (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) dropped a 6-4, 6-1 decision to senior Simone Vandroff in the No 3 match.
Bentley, which drops to 7-12 on the season, is back in action next Wednesday when they visit Holy Cross.
