Women’s Tennis Finishes New York Swing with 8-1 Win over Saint Rose

ALBANY, N.Y. – The Bentley women's tennis team finished its two-day swing through New York with an 8-1 victory over Saint Rose in a Northeast-10 match Friday to improve to 4-0 both overall and in conference play.

The Falcons once again swept all three doubles matches, led by the team Rachael Litton (Burlington, Ontario/Nelson) and Paulina Sotomayor (San Antonio, Texas/Ronald Reagan). The pair of seniors defeated Jennifer Crego and Lauren Romine 9-7 in the first-flight.

The other doubles matches saw freshmen Ludmila Yamus (Deer Park, N.Y./Half Hallow Hills East) and Catherine Gianino (Burlington, Mass./Burlington) blank Sarah Klein and Paige Southwick 8-0 in the second-flight, and freshmen Brittani Hetyei (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Township) and Olga Kosheva (Port Washington, N.Y./Paul D. Schreiber) blank Alyssa Haddad and Maggie Moran in the third-flight.

Gianino and Hetyei also scored 8-0 victories in third and fifth-flight singles, respectively.

The Falcons return home for their next match when they face New Haven on Thursday.
