MacNeil Triples as Bentley Completes Home Schedule with 8th Straight Win

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University sophomore Paige MacNeil (Branford, Conn./Branford HS) was a triple-winner for the second straight day, helping the Falcon women's swimming and diving team to a 199-95 Senior Day victory over Keene Sate College Saturday afternoon at the Dana Center.

MacNeil, a transfer from Wagner College, achieved her triumphs in the 100 yard backstroke (1:00.99), the 100 freestyle (55.74) and the 100 butterfly (1:01.43). The 100 free and the 100 fly were also among her wins in Friday's meet against Pace University.

Double-winners for the Falcons were junior Melissa Viator (Lubbock, Texas/Lubbock HS) and sophomore Caroline Logozzo (Wethersfield, Conn./Wethersfield HS). Viator was the first to reach the wall in the 500 free (5:20.27) and the 100 individual medley (1:03.24) while Logozzo claimed both diving events. She amassed 227.40 points from the one-meter board and 214.20 from the three-meter.

The other  individual wins for Bentley were achieved in 200 yard races with senior Anne Warren (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron) prevailing in the fly (2:13.71), junior Brooke Jameson (Bedford/Bedford HS) in the free (2:00.94), junior Kate Kaduboski (Dedham/Dedham HS) in the back (2:11.16) and freshman Selin Karadeniz (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Arlington HS) in the breaststroke (2:37.37).

Bentley closed out its eighth straight win by capturing the 200 free relay. That quartet consisted of sophomore Lea Guldemond (West Newbury/Central Catholic HS), Warren, freshman Emily LaRovere (Lynnfield/Phillips Exeter Acad.) and Kaduboski.

Bentley, 8-1, returns to action Tuesday at Babson College (6 pm).
