Kaduboski, Niemiec Lead Bentley During Final Day of Gompei Invitational

WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior Emily Niemiec (Meriden, Conn./Francis T. Mahoney HS) and sophomore Kate Kaduboski (Dedham/Dedham HS) were the top performers for the Bentley University women's swimming and diving team during Sunday's final day of competition in the Gompei Invitational at WPI.

Kaduboski had the Falcons' highest final-day performance, swimming to fourth in the 400 yard individual medley in 4:38.80. She was also tenth in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:01.32.

Niemiec recorded a pair of fifth-place finishes, with times of 2:28.67 in the 200 breaststroke and 4:39.69 in the 400 individual medley, where she trailed Kaduboski by 0.89 seconds.

Both were also part of the Falcons' 400 free relay team that finished eighth in 3:38.77, along with sophomore Brooke Jameson (Bedford/Bedford HS) and senior Kaitlin McGahie (Boylston/ Tahanto Reg. HS).

McGahie had a pair of top ten finishes on the day, taking seventh in the 100 freestyle (54.46) and tenth in the 200 free (1:59.28). In the latter event, Jameson's time of 1:58.53 was good for eighth place.

Freshman Caroline Logozzo (Wethersfield, Conn./Wethersfield HS) was seventh in the one-meter diving (352.20) and sophomore Melissa Viator (Lubbock, Texas/Lubbock HS) achieved a ninth in the 100 backstroke (1:00.51).

In the team standings, which combined both men's and women's results, Bentley finished fifth among 13 squads with 2,641.5 points. WPI swam past Stevens Tech for the team title, 5136.5-4225, and the top five also included Rowan and Bryant universities.

Bentley will wrap up its first semester schedule Saturday at Norwich University.
