Keene State Ends Bentley’s Win Streak at 8, 166-131
KEENE, N.H. – Freshman Kate Kaduboski (Dedham, Mass./Dedham HS) and senior All-America Nicola Mancini (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth HS) were double-winners for the Bentley University women's swimming team but the Falcons' winning streak ended at eight when Keene State prevailed 166-131 Saturday afternoon at the Keene State pool.
Katuboski was victorious in the 100 yard backstroke (1:01.76) and the 200 back (2:11.27), with classmate Melissa Viator (Lubbock, Texas/Lubbock HS) following in second in the latter event (2:14.99).
Mancini and Falcon senior Courtney Stone (Andover, Mass./Andover HS) went 1-2 in both diving events. Mancini topped her teammate off the one-meter board, 262.85-242.00, and was outstanding from the three-meter with a 314.15. Stone followed with a 246.05.
Bentley's other wins came from sophomore Emily Niemiec (Meriden, Conn./ Francis T. Mahoney HS) and freshman Brooke Jameson (Bedford, Mass./Bedford HS). Niemiec won the 100 individual medley in 1:03.90, and was also second in the 200 breaststroke (2:32.68). Jameson captured the 500 freestyle with a 5:20.07.
Junior Kaitlin McGahie (Boylston, Mass./Tahanto Reg. HS) had three seconds for the Falcons with swims of 1:11.46 in the 100 breast, 25.85 in the 50 free and 55.36 in the 100 free.
Bentley, 8-2, will look to get back on the winning track Tuesday at Babson.
