McGahie & Le Help Bentley Edge Roger Williams, 151-146

WALTHAM, Mass. – Freshman Kaitlin McGahie (Boylston/Tahanto Reg. HS) and senior Amanda Le (Chelmsford/Chelmsford HS) each won two individual events and participated in the Falcons' winning 200 yard medley relay as Bentley University edged Roger Williams University, 151-146, in women's swimming action at the Dana Center pool Friday afternoon.

McGahie captured the 50 freestyle in 25.76 and the 100 free in 56.36 while Le doubled in the 100 and 200 breaststroke events, with times of 1:09.47 and 2:31.09, respectively. They also teamed with sophomore Meg Pernsteiner (Highland Heights, Ohio/Hawken School) and sophomore Melissa Clauss (Oakland, N.J./Bergen County Academies) for a time of 1:55.28 in the medley relay to kick off the meet.

Sophomore All-America diver Nicola Mancini (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth HS) swept the diving events with winning scores of 278.76 off the one-meter and 273.76 from the three-meter board.

Bentley's dominance in the diving and breaststroke events was key to the victory with the Falcons outscoring the Hawks 51-23 in those four.

Bentley picked up second-place finishes in ten of 16 events, including three by Pernsteiner (100 back, 200 back, 200 individual medley) and two by freshman diver Courtney Stone (Andover/Andover HS).

Bentley, 2-1, will return to action next Saturday with a 1 pm meet at UMass-Dartmouth.
