NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Bentley University freshman diver Nicola Mancini (Falmouth, Maine/ Falmouth HS) captured her second gold medal of the meet and her teammates completed the 2013 Northeast-10 Conference Women's Swimming and Diving Championships by winning the final event, the 400 yard freestyle relay, Saturday night at Southern Connecticut State's Hutchison Natatorium.

Bentley finished the championship second to Southern Connecticut, which earned 907 points to capture the title for the ninth straight year. The Falcons amassed 721, besting Assumption College by 55 in the battle for second place in the eight-team three-day meet.

Mancini, who captured the one-meter diving Thursday, made it a clean sweep by taking the three-meter Saturday afternoon. After posting a 424.40 in the prelims, she posted a winning score of 410.05 to win by about 23 points over runner-up Jenn Paladino of Pace University. Also in the top eight for Bentley were sophomore Paige Wilde (Naugatuck, Conn./Holy Cross HS) , fourth with 358.05, and senior Abby Mathews (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford HS), seventh in 332.25.

In the 400 free relay, two seniors, Monika Drogosz (Unionville, Conn./Farmington HS) and Jessica Hodsdon (Brewer, Maine/Brewer HS), and two sophomores, Danielle Hellstern (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug HS) and Nadine Edwards (Danbury, Conn./Danbury HS), combined for a winning time of 3:35.52, besting Southern Connecticut by 0.43 seconds.

Bentley's only silver medal, and only school record, of day three went to junior Amanda Le (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford HS). She bettered the mark she set last February by 0.85 seconds with an NCAA "B" cut time of 2:21.76.

The 100 free was a strong event for Bentley Saturday with three Falcons cracking the top six. Hellstern collected bronze with a 1:54.09, Drogosz was fifth (54.51) and freshman Lindsey Goodwin (Staten Island, N.Y./Notre Dame Academy) was sixth (55.25).

Edwards, who won gold in the 200 and bronze in the 500 earlier in the championships, added another bronze to her collection, this one coming in the grueling 1650 free which she finished in 18:03.30.

Also swimming in the A finals were freshman Melissa Clauss (Oakland, N.J./Bergen County Academies) and junior Caroline Lewis (Westfield, Mass./Westfield HS). Clauss was seventh in the 200 butterfly (2:17.71) and Lewis took eighth in the 200 backstroke (2:13.22).
