Bentley Women Swim Past Dolphins, 176-120

WALTHAM, Mass. – Senior Monika Drogosz (Unionville, Conn./Farmington HS), junior Amanda Le (Chelmsford/Chelmsford HS) and sophomore Nadine Edwards (Danbury, Conn./Danbury HS) each won two events and participated on a winning relay as Bentley University swam past the Le Moyne College Dolphins, 176-120, in women's action Saturday afternoon at the Dana Center pool.

Edwards spent the most time in the pool as she captured the meet's two longest events, with times of 11:16.22 in the 1000 yard freestyle and 5:25.59 in the 500 free. Lee prevailed in the breaststroke, taking the 100 in 1:08.10 and the 200 in 2:26.11. Drogosz was first to the wall in the 50 free (25.94) and the 100 free (56.12).

Le teamed with junior Caroline Lewis (Westfield/Westfield HS), senior Jessica Hodsdon (Brewer, Maine/Brewer HS) and sophomore Danielle Hellstern (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug HS) for a winning time of 1:54.65 in the 200 medley relay. In the 200 free relay, Edwards, Drogosz, Hellstern and Hodsdon put up a meet-best time of 1:43.64.

Other winners for the Falcons in their first dual meet of the season were Lewis in the 100 backstroke (1:04.13), senior Shelly D'Aleo (Enfield, Conn./Suffield Academy) in the one-meter diving (238.30), Hodsdon in the 100 butterfly (1:00.78) and freshman Nicola Mancini (Falmouth, Maine/ Falmouth HS) in the three-meter diving (254.24).

All told, Bentley captured 12 of the meet's 16 events.

The Falcons will be back in action Wednesday night at Gordon College.
