Bentley Women Capture 1st NEISDA Championship since 2007 in Dominating Fashion

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. -- A record-setting weekend for the Bentley University women's swimming team concluded Sunday night with the Falcons capturing their first New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association championship since 2007, and their seventh in the last ten years.

Bentley, which earned a total of eight gold medals during the swimming portion of the meet while setting 16 school records in 14 different events, amassed 1,467 points to best three-time defending champion Keene State by 324.5 points. Assumption followed in third place, collecting a total of 926 points. Twenty-one teams participated in the three-day meet at the Upper Valley Aquatic Center.

The only gold for Bentley on Sunday was registered by senior Anne Kaduboski (Dedham, Mass./ Dedham HS) in the 200 yard butterfly, which she won for the fourth consecutive year. She outswam the field by about four-and-a-half seconds with her time of 2:04.01 breaking her own meet record by 1.27 seconds.

The gold was Kaduboski's fourth of the meet (three individual, one relay) and 11th of her illustrious career.

Kaduboski's final career race in the NEISDA Championships saw her help Bentley to a school record and a second-place finish in the 400 free relay. She swam the anchor leg, following freshman Kellen Power (San Jose, Calif./Valley Christian HS) and sophomores Monika Drogosz (Unionville, Conn./Farmington HS) and Jessica Hodsdon (Brewer, Maine/Brewer HS) into the pool. Their time of 3:35.99 broke the school record the same four set at the Northeast-10 Championships earlier in the month by 2.49 seconds.

Freshman Erin Campbell (Marshfield, Mass./Marshfield HS) twice broke the school record in the 200 breaststroke en route to a silver medal. She recorded a 2:26.59 in the prelims and bettered that in the final s with an NCAA "B" cut time of 2:25.37.

Sophomore Taryn Dooley (Feeding Hills, Mass./Agawam HS) and junior Susie Boretti (Westford/Westford Academy) also earned second-place finishes. Dooley swam the 50 backstroke in 28.27 seconds, five-hundredths of a second better than the school record she set on Friday, and Boretti posted a time of 18:21.62 in the 1650 free.

Power and Hodsdon finished third in the 100 free and 200 breast, respectively, and junior Molly Murphy (Horseheads, N.Y./Ichabod Crane HS) did the same in the 100 individual medley.
