Hassapis and Hunt Named to NE10 Women’s Soccer Academic All-Conference Team

Waltham, Mass. – Bentley University goalkeeper Kat Hassapis (North Reading, Mass./North Reading) and center back Riane Hunt (Millis, Mass./Millis) were named to the Northeast-10 Women's Soccer Academic All-Conference team, it was announced on Monday.

Both Hassapis and Hunt had standout seasons on the field for the Bentley women's soccer team, as they helped the program reach the NCAA Tournament for the first time and advance to the NE10 Semifinals. They performed just as well in the classroom, with Hunt a marketing major and Hassapis a management major.

To be eligible for the Academic All-Conference team from your sport, a student-athlete must have started or played in two-thirds of their team's games and maintained a 3.30 cumulative GPA, or better.

Hunt adds the Academic All-Conference honor to the several others she earned for her play in 2019. She was previously named first team All-NE10, first team All-Region by the United Soccer Coaches and second team All-Region by the CCA.

She was a key part of the team's defense which had 10 shutouts on the season, and she played every minute of Bentley's 20 games.

Hassapis was a standout between the posts for Bentley in 2019. Her eight shutouts led the NE10 and she ranked 3rd in save percentage at .817. She also ranked 5th in both total saves (94) and goals against average (1.02) in the NE10.

She adds the Academic All-Conference honor to her 2019 ledger, which also includes second team All-Conference and first team All-New England awards.
