Hunt Named to United Soccer Coaches All-East Region First Team

Waltham, Mass. – Senior center back Riane Hunt (Millis, Mass./Millis) from the Bentley University women's soccer team has been named to the United Soccer Coaches All-East Region first team, it was announced Monday.

Hunt was instrumental in helping the Falcons reach the NCAA Tournament this season for the first time in program history. She is also the second player in the program's history to be named first team All-Region by the United Soccer Coaches (formerly NSCAA), joining Lisa Tisbert in 2003.

As a first team All-Region honoree, she will now be eligible for All-America consideration.

Hunt played every minute of Bentley's 20 games this season, and helped lead a defense that was a big reason for the team's success. They had 10 shutouts on the season, and it was a run of five shutouts in a row and seven in eight games at the end of the season which lifted the team into the NCAA Tournament.

Included in that stretch were two shutout victories over fellow NCAA Tournament team Southern N.H., the second of which was in the NE10 quarterfinals.

This is Hunt's third recognition of the postseason. She was also named first team All-NE10 and second team All-East Region by the Conference Commissioner's Association.

For her career, Hunt started 64 of the 70 matches Bentley played in her four seasons and she clocked over 5,600 minutes on the pitch.

Bentley finished the 2019 season with a 10-8-2 record.
