Helin, Hunt and Millmann Named Bentley Women’s Soccer Captains

Waltham, Mass. – Seniors Stephanie Helin (Manchester, Conn./East Catholic), Riane Hunt (Millis, Mass./Millis) and Sammy Millmann (Northport, N.Y./Northport) will serve as captains of the Bentley University women's soccer team for the upcoming 2019 season.

"All three captains embody different leadership qualities," said head coach Lauren Lukis. "Their teammates are drawn to each of them, and are inspired by and respect them. All qualities of great captains. In addition, they are unselfish, put the team first and are ready to help lead us to success this season."

Helin was Bentley's leading scorer last season with 17 points on six goals, which tied for the team lead, and five assists which led the team. She was named the NE10 Player of the Week early in the season after scoring two goals in a win over AIC, and capped the year by being named second team All-New England.

Hunt has been a mainstay at center back in her Bentley career. She has started 44 of a possible 50 matches. In 2017 she was second on the team in minutes played with over 1400, and last season played every minute in five different matches.

Millmann excelled as a fullback last season and was named to both the CoSIDA Academic All-District 1 team and the NE10 Academic All-Conference team for her efforts. She started 15 matches and logged nearly 1,200 minutes throughout the season.

Bentley will get its 2019 season started on Friday, Sept. 6 when they take on Dominican (N.Y.) at the Molloy Kickoff Classic.
