West Haven, Conn. – Senior Alyssa Valente (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) scored her 6th goal of the season to help the Bentley women's soccer team to a 2-1 victory at New Haven on Saturday night in the final game of the regular season.
Valente scored in the 30th minute to give Bentley a 1-0 lead, and freshman Emily McGrath (Brewster, Mass./Nauset) scored the go-ahead goal in the 66th break to a 1-1 tie. McGrath also assisted on Valente's goal in the 1st half.
Valente's goal was the 17th of her career and 48th point.
Bentley outshot New Haven 13-4 in shots on goal on the night. Valente led the way with five shots on goal, while McGrath, Stephanie Helin (Coventry, Conn./East Catholic) and Emma Guccione (Holliston, Mass./Holliston) each had two.
The Falcons close the season with a winning record at 7-6-3 overall, and 6-6-2 in the NE10 for 20 points.
