Bentley Tops Le Moyne 3-1 on Senior Day

Waltham, Mass. – Three different players scored, including senior Lauren Bean (Newburyport, Mass./Newburyport), to lead the Bentley women's soccer team to a 3-1 Senior Day win over Le Moyne on Saturday, its third win in a row.

The win improved Bentley's NE10 record to 5-5-1 on the season, which gives them 17 points with two matches remaining as they continue to chase a playoff spot.

Bean was on target in the 19th minute to give Bentley a 1-0 lead as she fired in a shot from eight yards away to the top corner of the net. Freshman Dana Goulet (Wilmington, Mass./Wilmington) got a touch on a loose ball in the box and fed a pass back to Bean to set her up for the finish.

Le Moyne struck back in the 28th minute to tie the score 1-1 on a goal by forward Elizabeth Maguire, her 4th of the season.

But from that point on it was all Bentley.

Just four minutes later, junior Sammy Millmann (Northport, N.Y./Northport) scored with a thunderous strike from 20 yards out that came from the left corner of the penalty area and went to the far post for a 2-1 Falcons lead.

Bentley kept that lead into halftime and into the second half, when sophomore Emma Guccione (Holliston, Mass./Holliston) made it a 3-1 lead with her fourth goal of the season. Guccione took a pass from Goulet in midfield, took a couple of dribbles and fired off a shot from about 20 yards in the right corner and scored to the upper corner of the far post.

The Falcons then saw the game out from that point to secure the win.

Prior to the game the team's senior class was honored for their contributions to the program. The senior class consisted of Bean, Brandi McDonald (East Bridgewater, Mass./East Bridgewater), Alyssa Valente (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan), Carly Kohler (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) and Meagan Iris (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills).

Bentley will go for its fourth straight win and continue its playoff push on Wednesday when they host Stonehill at 3:00 pm.
