Tantum Finds the Net, But Bentley Falls at Assumption 2-1

WORCESTER, Mass. – Sophomore forward Ana Tantum (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) netted her team-high fourth goal of the season, but the Bentley women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to Assumption on the road Saturday afternoon.

Junior midfielder Paige Radomski did the damage for the Greyhounds, scoring both goals for her ninth and 10th of the season. One of the leading goal scorers in the Northeast-10, she gave the home side a 1-0 lead in just the third minute off a penalty kick.

Radomski then doubled Assumption's lead in the 14th minute, striking from the top of the penalty area after taking a pass from forward Amanda Arnold.

Though Tantum's goal didn't come until the 85th minute, Bentley put pressure on Assumption's net, who at least temporarily, move to the top of the NE-10 standings with the win. The Falcons fired off 10 shots, seven on goal, requiring six saves of Assumption keeper Rachel Edgin. Four of her saves came in the second half. Tantum and senior co-captain Patty McAllister (South Glasontbury, Conn./Glastonbury) led the way with two shots on goal each.

Falcons goalie Deirdre Macrorie (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) made six saves against the second highest scoring team in the NE-10.

Bentley returns home on Tuesday to battle Stonehill for a 3:30 pm match, the first of two straight home matches.
