Tantum Scores Again, but Bentley Falls to Pace

BRIARCLIFF, N.Y. – Sophomore Ana Tantum (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) scored for the second time in as many matches, but the Bentley women's soccer team was defeated by Pace University 5-1 in a Northeast-10 match on Saturday afternoon in New York.

Sophomore forward Alyssa Zeoli led the Setters' attack with four goals, two in each half. Senior Jillian Ferro had three assists, each coming on goals by Zeoli.

After Zeoli put Pace in front 2-0 with first half goals in the 12th and 23rd minutes, Bentley got back in the game with Tantum's goal in the 54th minute, making it 2-1. Junior Sam Ford (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) had the assist on the goal, Tantum's third of the season, as she beat Pace's goalie Aisha Chauhan to a loose ball in the penalty area to score.

But Zeoli put Pace back ahead by two goals with a header goal in the 60th minute, and she added another in the 64th minute.

The Falcons will play their second straight on the road on Tuesday night when they visit Southern New Hampshire. Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm.
