Bentley Suffers 2nd Straight Tough OT Defeat, 2-1 at Stonehill

EASTON, Mass. – A 92nd minute goal by Stonehill junior Renee Trudeau dealt the Bentley women's soccer team a second straight tough defeat in overtime, as the Skyhawks won it 2-1 in Northeast-10 action Tuesday afternoon.

Bentley led 1-0 for the most of the match on the strength of senior Patty McAllister's (South Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) 19th minute goal, her second straight match with a goal after scoring last Saturday against Assumption.

McAllister capitalized on a Stonehill turnover in its own end for the goal, her third of the season.

The Falcons held that lead deep into the second half, until Stonehill equalized in the 87th minute on a goal by freshman Lauren Kapatoes. Her shot from the left wing first hit the crossbar then bounced in.

That sent Bentley to overtime for the sixth time this season, and third time in the last four matches. Just 1:25 into the extra-session, it was Trudeau scoring the winner for the Skyhawks, giving them their second win in a row.

The Falcons return to the pitch on Saturday when the visit Southern Connecticut. Kickoff is set for 5:00 pm.
