WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University sophomore Christiana Hynds (West Roxbury/Boston Latin School) made seven saves en route to her fifth shutout of the season as the Falcons battled to a scoreless double-overtime draw with Stonehill College in Northeast-10 Conference women's soccer Tuesday afternoon at Bentley.

Bentley, which ran its unbeaten streak to three, left the field with records of 5-6-3 overall and 3-6-3 conference. The tie was the fifth of the year for Stonehill, which is now 5-4-5 overall and a balanced 4-4-4 in the NE-10.

"Our defense was the vital key to our success today" said coach Lauren Lukis. "We closed Stonehill down quickly and we looked to play feet and possess. Our back line of defense stepped up strong to win balls and denied Stonehill momentum in their attack."

That back line Lukis referred to consisted of juniors Katie Moroney (North Andover/North Andover HS), Kelsey Regan (Holliston/Holliston HS) and Jenna Skagerlind (Holden/Wachusett Reg. HS), as well as sophomore Tamzin Ellerbeck (Paoli, Pa./Conestoga HS).

Bentley's best scoring attempt was likely a shot by senior Molly Alfieri (Southington, Conn./ Southington HS) that Stonehill keeper Amy Wheaton (Dartmouth) made a nice save on with about 28 minutes left in regulation. In overtime, Skyhawk sophomore Jordan Bell (Pemberton, N.J.) came close, her shot from about 15 yards about a foot above the cage.

Stonehill finished with a 15-8 advantage in shots and had a 5-2 edge in corner kicks.

Bentley will be back at home on Saturday for a 3 pm encounter with Southern Connecticut State.
