Bentley Falls to American International Despite 10 Saves by Hynds

WALTHAM, Mass. – Junior forward Caroline Boyce (Canterbury, N.H.) scored the only goal of the match with 14:18 left in the first half, propelling American International College to a 1-0 win over host Bentley University in Northeast-10 Conference women's soccer Friday afternoon.

Boyce put a move on her defender before drilling the ball from just outside the box into the top of the cage. The unassisted tally was her fourth of the year and one of 23 shots taken by the Yellow Jackets.

Sophomore keeper Christiana Hynds (West Roxbury/Boston Latin HS) turned in a strong effort for the Falcons, making a total of ten saves, including seven in the second half. Samantha Tabak (North Haven, Conn.) stopped all five Bentley shots to earn the shutout.

In addition to having 18 more shots, AIC also had 11 of the contest's 14 corner kicks.

AIC improved to 4-2-1 overall, and 3-1-1 in the NE-10, after stretching its winning streak to three. Bentley dipped to 3-2-2 overall and 1-2-2 in the conference.

The Falcons are off until Wednesday when they will host Franklin Pierce in a conference match.
