Brady Helps Saint Michael’s Clip Bentley 1-0

COLCHESTER, Vt. – In a match played in steady rain, a 56th minute goal by Saint Michael's sophomore Meagan Brady helped the host Purple Knights send the Bentley women's soccer team to its first loss of the season, 1-0 Tuesday afternoon in Northeast-10 play.

The Falcons (3-1-2, 1-1-2 NE-10) had started the season without a loss in their first five matches, but Brady's goal after a scoreless first half was enough to give Saint Michael's (1-4-1, 1-2-1 NE-10) its first conference victory of the campaign.

Brady's goal came after senior Cassie Crockett won a header in midfield, playing it to Brady for a breakaway. Brady then tucked her shot into the lower right corner of the net for her first goal of the season.

Falcons goalkeeper, sophomore Christiana Hynds (West Roxbury, Mass./Boston Latin), continued her strong play this season with a seven save effort, but Bentley couldn't find a way to put one past Saint Michael's keeper Kaylee Sullivan.

After two straight matches on the road, Bentley plays the first of two straight at home when AIC visits Friday afternoon for a 4:00 p.m. match.
