Bentley Women’s Lacrosse Senior Class Named an NE10 Team of the Week

Waltham, Mass. – The Bentley University women's lacrosse senior class was named an NE10 Team of the Week on Tuesday.

Throughout the remainder of the spring, the NE10 will be honoring the seniors from the spring sports with this recognition, as their season was unfortunately cut short.

The 2020 Bentley women's lacrosse team had just one senior on its roster, and it was goalie Eliza Bresler (Newton, Mass./Newton North).

"We are so proud of our one and only senior, Eliza Bresler, and for all she has contributed to the Bentley women's lacrosse program, both on and off the field," said third year head coach and 2013 Bentley graduate Taylor Bastien.

"We are grateful for all of the hard work and dedication she has demonstrated throughout her career," Bastien continued. "Eliza is not only a tremendous player, but she is one of the most caring and supportive teammates, leading this team with empathy and compassion. It has been a pleasure to coach Eliza each and every day and we look forward to seeing her success in the future."

The recognitions Bresler earned and records she broke during Bentley career are numerous. She earned first team IWLCA All-American honors for her junior season, which made her the first, first team All-American in the program's history.

She was also named the NE10 Goalie of the Year, first team IWLCA All-Region and first team All-Conference for the 2019 season. Her numbers were an 11-6 record, with 217 saves (tied for the national lead) and a .529 save percentage (6th best in the nation).

The Newton, Mass., native set the program's single season record for ground balls (68) last season. She finished her career with the 4th most saves (459) and the 3rd best save percentage (.519) in the program's history, in just 37 career starts.

Bresler is a management major and a finance minor, and she was a team captain for both the 2020 and 2019 seasons.

Bentley was 2-1 when this season was cancelled, with wins over Molloy and New York Tech. They were ranked No. 16 in the final IWLCA poll of the season.
