No. 18 Bentley Wins Season Opener at Molloy, 17-8

Rockville Centre, N.Y. – No. 18 ranked Bentley women's lacrosse was propelled by a fast start to a 17-8 victory at Molloy on Wednesday in the team's season opener.

The Falcons led 8-0 after just over six and a half minutes of the first half, and they never looked back to win their season opening game. Six different players scored multiple goals, led by six for junior Sandrine Heller (Weggis, Switzerland). Heller added two assists for a game high six points.

Sophomore Christine Fish (Slingerlands, N.Y./Guilderland) had three goals and one assist. Julia Glavin (Ipswich, Mass./Ipswich), Glenna Gies (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) and freshman Kenzie Lupton (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua) each had two goals and one assist on the night.

Glavin scored the game's first goal 42 seconds into the contest. Heller scored the next two goals, followed by another goal by Glavin for a quick 4-0 lead after just 3:40 of play. Goals by Gies, two from Fish and a man up goal by Kayli Keenan (Pelham, N.H./Bishop Guertin) made it 8-0.

Over the remainder of the half, sophomore Caroline Boudreau (Foxborough, Mass./Foxborough) found the back of the net, Gies scored for a second time and junior Jillian Lynch (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) netted a man up goal as Bentley led 12-3 at halftime.

Bentley closed out the game on a 3-0 run over the final 10 minutes, with the goals by Heller, Lupton and Boudreau.

Senior goalie Eliza Bresler (Newton, Mass./Newton North) made eight saves in the cage to earn the win. Fish had a game high seven draw controls and four ground balls, and junior Dana Lewandowski (Franklin, Mass./Franklin) had a game high three caused turnovers.

Bentley (1-0) will now prepare for its home opener, which is on Saturday against Mercy College at 2:30 pm.
