No. 18 Bentley Makes it Five in a Row with 15-7 Win over No. 20 Stonehill

WALTHAM, Mass. – 18th ranked Bentley claimed its 5th straight win Wednesday night, leading from start to finish in beating 20th ranked Stonehill 15-7 in a Northeast-10 encounter. Junior Hannah Lindgren (Southborough, Mass./Algonquin) led the offensive attack with five goals and two assists.

The Falcons, now 7-5 overall and 5-3 in the NE-10, raced out to a 7-0 lead after eight-plus minutes and never looked back.

Bentley set the tone early as Kelsey Howard (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough) scored just 29 seconds into the match after the opening draw control win. Lindgren then gave Bentley a 2-0 lead with her first of the night, exactly two minutes later, with an impressive play. She stole Stonehill's clearing attempt after a save by the goalie and took it in herself for the goal, which caused an early timeout for the Skyhawks.

The Falcons continued to pour it on in the early going. Ciara Morley (Irvington, N.Y./Irvington) had two goals during the opening run, Lindgren added another on a free-position shot and assisted on a goal by Meredith Hart (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport). Howard had another goal as well before Stonehill finally broke the run.

Taylor Lunden (Agawam, Mass./Agawam) scored in a man-up situation to give Bentley an 8-1 lead at the 7:51 mark, and Kathleen Gillespie (Topsfield, Mass./Masconomet) and Hart scored on free-position shots to close out the half as Bentley led 10-3 at the break.

Bentley was never seriously threatened in the 2nd half. Lindgren scored three more goals to set new career-highs for both goals (5) and points (7). That's the most points by a Bentley player in a game this season.

The Falcons will look to make it six wins in a row on Saturday when they host Southern New Hampshire.
