WALTHAM, Mass. – Junior attacker Maggie Monnat scored six goals to lead No. 4 Le Moyne to a 15-6 victory over Bentley University in Northeast-10 women's lacrosse on Saturday afternoon.
Monnat's six goals, combined with three each from attacker Erica Geremia and midfielder Laura Hoffman paced the Dolphin offense, as they improved to 5-0 in the NE-10 and 8-1 overall. Bentley received two goals each from sophomore Hannah Lindgren (Southborough, Mass./Algonquin) and freshman Kathleen Gillespie (Topsfield, Mass./Masconomet), as they drop to 4-4 overall and 3-3 in the NE-10.
Le Moyne led 6-1 after 24 minutes as Monnat had three of the goals. Gillespie and Lindgren though scored before halftime to get the Falcons to within 8-3 after 30 minutes.
Le Moyne scored four of the first five goals of the second half, with Gillespie scoring for Bentley, as the Dolphins led 12-4 at the 13:46 mark after a goal by Hoffman. Junior Kelsey Howard (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough) and Lindgren closed the game for Bentley with goals.
The Falcons are back at it on Tuesday afternoon when they host Assumption for a 3:30 game.
