No. 1 Adelphi Stays Unbeaten with Victory over Bentley

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – The top-ranked team in Division II Adelphi continued its unbeaten run though the season with a 22-2 victory over the Bentley women's lacrosse team Saturday afternoon in a Northeast-10 matchup.

All-Americans Erica Devito, Elizabeth Fey and Claire Petersen powered the Panther offense. Devito and Fey each had four goals and Petersen had three, and Petersen handed out four assists and Devito added three.

The Panthers were up 17-0 at halftime. Petersen at one point assisted on four straight goals.

Sophomore Cori Geiger (Agawam, Mass./Agawam) and freshman Alicia Papineau (Hollis, N.H./Hollis-Brookline) scored for Bentley in the second half.

Adelphi is now 14-0 overall and 10-0 in conference play, while Bentley drops to 7-8 and 5-5.

The Falcons are back in action on Tuesday night at home against Saint Anselm for the first of their final two regular season games.
