WALTHAM, Mass. – Senior guard Courtney Finn (Winthrop/Winthrop HS) put up 19 points and 11 rebounds for her second straight double-double and former Roxbury Community College standout Tyler Parker Kimball (New Britain, Conn./New Britain HS) claimed a career-best 15 rebounds in 20 minutes off the bench as Bentley University, ranked second nationally in Division II, remained unbeaten with a 75-66 win over the University of New Haven in Northeast-10 Conference women's basketball Saturday afternoon at the Dana Center.

Bentley, 17-0 overall and 12-0 NE-10, extended its winning streak against East Region opponents to 30 games and also recorded its 19th consecutive Dana Center victory.

For the third consecutive game, the Falcons had to overcome a double-figure deficit, after falling behind by as many as 15, 30-15 with 5:52 left in the first half. Bentley had made only six of 29 shots overall up until that point, and the three-pointer by junior Anh-Dao Tran (Webster) that made it a 15-point spread was the Chargers' fourth of the game.

Bentley responded with six straight points with a pair of Finn free throws followed by baskets from junior forwards Lauren Battista (North Easton/Oliver Ames HS) and Jacqui Brugliera (Fitchburg/ Wachusett Reg. HS).

That grew into a half-ending 20-6 explosion, capped by a buzzer-beating put-back by Kimball, her fifth offensive board and ninth rebound of the opening stanza. Battista, who moved into 15th on Bentley's all-time scoring list with 1,271 points, had seven of the 20 while Brugliera had five and sophomore guard Kelsey Mattice (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero North Syracuse HS) helped out with four.

After New Haven picked up the opening basket of the second, Bentley embarked on a 13-2 run over the span of two-and-a-half minutes to take a 48-40 lead four minutes into the half. Finn had six of the 13 and Brugliera both buried a three and stepped in to draw a charge.

An 8-2 spurt midway through the second stretched the lead to 13, 63-50. Mattice converted a three-point play and Kimball capped the run with a pair of free throws. Coupled with the strong close to the first half, the Falcons outscored the Chargers (6-11, 5-8 NE-10) 48-20 over a span of 18 game minutes.

 Bentley locked up coach Barbara Stevens' 869th career win with a late 6-0 run making it a 75-60 game with 1:17 left. All six points came at the stripe, with Finn hitting four of four.

Finn, who had 20 points and 10 rebounds in Wednesday's win at Adelphi, finished seven of 10 from the foul line, matching New Haven in terms of attempts, and also had four steals. Battista followed with 16 points and three steals, and Brugliera (14 points) came within a rebound of a double-double. Mattice and senior guard Kelsey Roberson (Arlington/Arlington Catholic HS) netted seven points apiece and Kimball had five points in addition to her brilliant rebounding effort.

Sophomore Bria Moore (West Haven, Conn.) led four double figure scorers for New Haven with 19 points, along with eight rebounds.

Bentley struggled through a 35-percent shooting game, but countered that by dominating the boards, 53-43 including 21 at the offensive end, and committing only 13 turns, five less than New Haven. The Falcons, who also had a 19-8 advantage in free throws after being whistled for only five fouls, finished with a 14-8 advantage in second-chance points and were plus-nine in points off turnovers, 24-15.

Bentley will remain at home to host Le Moyne on Tuesday at 5:30 pm.
