Getting to Know...Bentley Softball's Sam Petow

Getting to Know Bentley softball student-athlete Sam Petow. A freshman infielder-outfielder from Glastonbury, Connecticut, Sam came to Bentley after she excelled both on the field and in the classroom at Glastonbury High School. She was named to both the All-Conference and All-Academic teams all four years of high school, and was a two time, first team All-State selection.

What is your favorite restaurant, either around Boston or in your hometown?

Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.

What is the best sporting event you have ever attended. Who is your favorite athlete, either past or present?

A Red Sox game where I caught a foul ball when I was younger. My favorite player is Andrew Benintendi.

If you could pick one destination to travel to, what would it be?

Australia

What were the biggest factors in your decision to attend Bentley

Bentley is the perfect mix of what I was looking for athletically and academically. It's the best place for me because I know I will be successful and will be prepared for the real world.

How are you planning to keep your athletic skills sharp this summer?

Doing the summer workouts we receive, as well as going to the field as much as possible to work on my game and the parts that need improvement.

What made you start playing the sport you play now, and what other sports did you play growing up?

Softball wasn't always my main sport, but when I started playing for a club team, I began liking it the most. I also played basketball, soccer, and did gymnastics.
