Bentley Tabbed for 8th in NE10 Preseason Softball Rankings
WALTHAM, Mass. – With the entire pitching staff and players who accounted for 283 of the team's 293 hits back from last year's 18-24 team, the Bentley University Falcons were listed eighth among 14 teams in the Northeast-10 Conference softball preseason coaches' poll.
Saint Anselm College topped the voting with the top five also including Adelphi University, Southern New Hampshire, the University of New Haven and Pace University. Also in front of the Falcons were Le Moyne College and Assumption College.
Each of the top four participated in the NCAA Division II East Regional tournament last May.
The 2019 Falcons finished fifth in the Northeast Division and were 14-13 in conference games. This year, the conference has returned to a single division with each team playing a doubleheader against the other 13.
Coach Terry A. McDonough's Falcons will open the season this weekend with the Rollins College Round Robin in Winter Park, Fla. They'll play Queens (N.C.) and Rollins on Saturday and the same two teams on Sunday.
