A three-run sixth inning that featured a two-RBI double by senior right fielder Kelsey Francher (Weare, N.H.) broke a 2-2 tie and propelled Merrimack College to a 5-2 win over Bentley University in the first round of the Northeast-10 Conference Softball Championships Tuesday afternoon at Warrior Field.

Following a regular season0ending three-game sweep of St. Michael’s College that wrapped up a postseason berth, the Bentley University Falcons will be in North Andover on Tuesday afternoon to take on Merrimack College in the first round of the Northeast-10 Conference championships. First pitch at Warrior Field is scheduled for 3 pm.

The Bentley University softball team will have a pair of special events this weekend as the Falcons close out the regular season with a three-game series against St. Michael’s College. The two teams will meet in a single game Saturday at 1 pm. and will play a noon doubleheader on Sunday.
