Warrington Pitches Wilmington Past Bentley, 3-0

CLERMONT, Fla. -- Sophomore pitcher Katie Warrington (Townsend, Del.) threw a four-hit shutout as Wilmington University (Del.) blanked Bentley University, 3-0, in non-conference softball action on Tuesday at the National Training Center.

Warrington recorded her third straight win for the Wildcats, striking out seven in the process. She didn't allow a runner past second base until a three-base error occurred with two out in the bottom of the seventh.

Warrington received all the offensive support she would need in the top of the first with her teammates giving her two runs.

Designated player Amanda Cordrey (Millsboro, Del. ) had two hits for 6-10 Wilmington, and second baseman Lauren Szymanski (Middletown, Del.) scored a pair.

For Bentley, sophomore second baseman Erica Thibodeau (Cohoes, N.Y./Shaker HS) had two hits.

Bentley, 3-3, will resume its Florida trip on Thursday with games against Caldwell College and Nyack College.
