Bentley Men Take 3rd in Northeast-10 Championships; Chapski Cracks Top 10

EASTON, Mass. – Led by junior Graham Chapski (East Greenwich, R.I./East Greenwich HS), the Bentley University Falcons finished third overall during Saturday's Northeast-10 Conference Men's Cross Country Championships at Stonehill College.

Following repeat champion American International (27) and Stonehill (74), five teams finished within 20 points of each other with Bentley's 121 putting the Falcons at the top of that list. Franklin Pierce University was 13 points back in fourth, and the top seven also included Southern New Hampshire (141), Merrimack College (141) and Adelphi University (142).

Chapski finished ninth to earn second-team All-Conference honors with an 8,000-meter time of 25:41.4. He missed out on a top-five showing by ten seconds and vaulted 26 places in the standings from his number 35 finish of a year ago.

Bentley's top seven all cracked the top 36 with the team's number two runner being senior Nik Haas (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey HS) in 25th (26:18.6).

Junior Ryan Cadorette (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy), senior Erik Alatalo (Wilmington/ Wilmington HS) and sophomore Cody Murphy (Dunbarton, N.H./Goffstown HS) crossed the line consecutively, beginning with Cadorette 29th in 26:26.1. Alatalo was 30th (26:28.9) and Murphy was 31st (26:35.1).

AIC's Leakey Kipkosgei ran to the win with his time of 24:35.4 giving him a margin of victory of about 22 seconds over runner-up Nacho Hernando (Southern New Hampshire).

Next on the schedule is the NCAA Division II East Regional, which will be run Nov. 12 at the State Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, N.H.
