Haas Leads Bentley During New Englands

BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore Nik Haas (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey HS) was the top finisher for the Bentley University men's cross country team during Saturday's New England men's cross country championships at Franklin Park.

Haas was tenth among Division II runners and 108th overall in a field of 262 with an 8,000-meter time of 25:50.58. He improved on his 2013 time by 73 seconds while climbing 92 places in the standings.

Showing an even bigger improvement was junior David Cooper (Woburn/Woburn HS), who bettered his 2013 time by more than three minutes while placing 171st overall in 26:17.15.

Bentley also received solid performances from freshmen Graham Chapski (East Greenwich, R.I./East Greenwich HS) and Ryan Cadorette (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy). Chapski was 165th in 26:20.63 and Cadorette 172nd in 26:27.41.

In the team standings, Bentley was third among eight Division II teams and 27th of 39 overall.

Bentley's next competition is also at Franklin Park, the Mayor's Cup on October 26.
