Haas Top Finisher for Bentley Men in Louisville Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Sophomore Nik Haas (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey HS) was the top finisher for the Bentley University men's cross country team during the Greater Louisville Classic Saturday morning at Tom Sawyer State Park.

Haas covered the 5,000-meter course in 26:09.97, placing 99th in a field of 356 runners. Career-best times were achieved by sophomores Cullen McHale (Burlington, Conn./Lewis S. Mills HS) and Rupak Mehta (Howell, N.J./Howell HS), who finished in 26:33.38 (148th) and 26:50.37 (184th), respectively.

Bentley's top five also included junior David Cooper (Woburn, Mass./Woburn HS) and sophomore Eric Alatalo (Wilmington, Mass./Wilmington HS). Cooper was 183rd in 26:48.98 and Alatalo's 27:17.33 put him in 222nd place.

As a team, Bentley finished 33rd of 42 in a strong field that included three Division I teams and three Division II top 25 teams.

The next action for the Falcons is the New England Championships at Franklin Park next Saturday.
