Top 20 Performances by Haas & Cadorette Lead Bentley at UMass-Dartmouth

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – With sophomore Nik Haas (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey HS) and freshman Ryan Cadorette (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy) both cracking the top 20, the Bentley University men's cross country team finished fifth out of 34 teams in the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational Saturday.

Bentley put up a score of 148 to finish behind Franklin Pierce University (50), WPI (100), Brandeis University (105) and New Paltz State (134).

Haas finished 14th in 25:46.1 and Cadorette followed three places later in 25:47.7. That was the second fastest time posted by a freshman in the meet.

Also cracking the top 30 for Bentley were sophomore Erik Alatalo (Wilmington/Wilmington HS), 29th in 26:03.2, and freshman Graham Chapski (East Greenwich, R.I./East Greenwich HS), 30th in 26:03.6.

Franklin Pierce's BJ Smith was the individual champion with his time of 24:48.3 about nine seconds faster than runner-up Lee Cattanach of Eastern Connecticut State.

Bentley's next meet is the Louisville Cross Country Classic in Kentucky Oct. 4
